+Is SWS SQLSense Studio free?
It is a paid add-in - $49 per year for one machine - with a free 15-day trial. A trial with every feature starts automatically when you install, with no licence key and no credit card needed. To keep using it after the trial, email support-sqlsense@shorynow.com for a key and activate it in SSMS under SqlSense Studio > Licence.
+Which versions of SSMS are supported?
SSMS 20, 21 and 22. Setup finds every installed copy and adds SQLSense Studio to each one. Versions before 20 are not supported.
+Does it work with Windows, SQL and Microsoft Entra logins?
Yes. SQLSense uses the query window's own connection, so every login type SSMS supports works.
+Will I see two suggestion lists?
No. By default SQLSense turns SSMS's own IntelliSense off while its suggestions are on, and puts your setting back when you turn SQLSense off or uninstall.
+What does the AI assistant send, and to whom?
Only when you ask a question, it sends your schema (object and column names) and, if you allow it, the query in your editor to Claude or OpenAI using your own API key. Table data is sent only if you turn on Share query results.
+Do I need a ChatGPT or Claude subscription for the assistant?
No, you need an API key from console.anthropic.com or platform.openai.com. API use is billed by the provider, usually a few cents per question. Everything else in SQLSense works without it.
+Does SWS see my databases or queries?
No. SQLSense runs inside SSMS on your computer and licence keys are checked offline. Nothing is sent to SWS.
+Why does Windows SmartScreen warn me when installing?
The installer is not code-signed yet. Click More info → Run anyway.
