SWS SQLSense Studio – User Guide
SWS SQLSense Studio is an add-in for SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 20, 21 and 22 from ShoryNow Web Services (SWS). It reads your database's structure through the connection already open in the query window and suggests tables, columns and joins as you type, writes full INSERT and EXEC statements, shows any object's script on hover, formats your SQL, and adds an AI assistant that knows your schema.

1. Highlights
| Area | What you get |
|---|---|
| Object suggestions | Tables, views, table-valued functions and synonyms after FROM, JOIN, INTO, UPDATE, MERGE and APPLY, inserted schema-qualified with an alias: dbo.Booking b |
| Column suggestions | Columns from every table in the statement, with data types. o. lists the columns of Orders o |
| JOIN conditions | After JOIN: dbo.Orders o ON o.CustomerId = c.Id, built from foreign keys or matching column names |
| Statement templates | INSERT INTO <table> + Tab writes the column list and a VALUES block. EXEC <procedure> + Tab fills in the parameters |
| Expand wildcards | SELECT * + Tab replaces * with the column list |
| Hover card | Rest the mouse on a table, view, procedure or column to see its script, columns, keys and dependencies |
| Formatting | Ctrl+K, Ctrl+Y formats the selection or the whole script |
| Code edits and refactoring | Apply casing, insert semicolons, qualify names, remove brackets, rename aliases and variables, find unused variables and invalid objects |
| SqlSense Assistant | An AI chat panel (Claude or OpenAI, with your own API key) that knows the connected database's schema and the query in your editor |
| Works with every login | Uses the query window's own connection, so Windows, SQL and Microsoft Entra logins all work |
